Project Summary
In 2.008, MIT's design and manufacturing class for undergraduates mechanical engineers, student work in teams to design and manufacture a yoyo. I created the concept for this yo-yo and designing the CAM body mold, and overseeing the injection molding for the body. I worked with my teammates to manipulate our process parameters on the injection molding machine to improve the snap fit of our parts to ensure our components fit together.

The Body
I worked on designing and completing the CAM for the body mold and overseeing the injection molding for the body. The design of the body required careful consideration because our yoyo was too light and the body required an over-molded weight to improve how the yoyo spins when released.I also worked with my teammates to manipulate our process parameters on the injection molding machine to improve the snap fit of the body to the snap ring to ensure our components fit together.
